Victress FC is dedicated to empowering marginalized voices in sports media by fostering diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity. Our mission is to level the playing field in the sports industry, providing a platform for underrepresented creators—particularly women and people of color—to thrive. By amplifying these voices, we aim to reshape the sports narrative, promote fair representation, and drive cultural change globally.
Women’s sports receive only 4% of total sports media coverage despite comprising nearly 40% of all athletes globally. This underrepresentation stifles opportunities for growth and limits the visibility of role models for young women.
Only 14% of sports journalists are women, and the figures are even lower for women of color. Diversity within sports media is essential to ensure that all stories, perspectives, and experiences are shared.
In 2023, only 3% of sports editors at major outlets were women, further underscoring the gender imbalance in decision-making roles. By supporting and developing female leaders and creators, Victress FC addresses this gap head-on.
